(http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=11050) Posted by dj-b13 on 04:06:2001 01:48 PM: Well i'm just wonderin...any of u who plays anakaris, what are the strategies u do? Posted by WeaponXtreme on 04:06:2001 06:29 PM: ok... i figured id toss in my 2 cents here... i dont actually play ankaris but im sick to death of him. One of the regulars in my arcade uses him with iron man as cover, in order to get out his mummy wrap throw thing. and for some annoying reason, ankaris has like 3 different low kicks that seem to have insane priority... he's a pain to beat down... in my case... the strategy seems to be timing on his throws and then annoy the crap out of an opponent by pulling it off over... and over.. and... over... Posted by Da Azn Angel on 04:06:2001 06:48 PM: master the range of his throws and the timing of the hand super jawn and stuff like that www.gamefaqs.com for more, i think he is mostly played to confuse the other player Posted by AmScott on 04:06:2001 06:57 PM: I might as well add some helpful information too (my two cents as well). Anakaris is really a unique character in MVC2, though he has a lot of potential. I use him in my Anakaris/Amingo/Dhalsim team and he is quite useful. A few strategies for him would be to remember that he can stay in the air just about as much as Storm does, though he doesn't fly. While in the air, he can let loose a lot of coffins falling on his opponents, while staying hovering in the air (similar concept of Ryu throwing fireballs in the air, he "hovers" until you stop throwing projectiles). Though he tends to take more damage per hit than other characters, his supers are highly damaging and can catch people by suprise (though the pharoh illusion (hands) super he can be knocked out of, and the pharoh magic is hard to pull off/hit with). His mega cobra blow hyper (coffin suprise, b(1sec), f then 2p) does great chip damage, can hit high and low, and can be performed in the air as well. I like the coffin fall hyper when my opponent is jumping around because the coffins fall randomly and opponents most of the time forget to block in the air (or if you're playing a computer opponent, they almost never block that). The mummy throw (fireball motion + P) has a great range and is a good assist and set up for combo moves. The royal curse is useful as well for jumping/anti-air opponents (though sometimes hard to hit with). As for partner choices with Anakaris, I would choose either rushdown or beamer characters (or a combination of both). As long as Anakaris is somewhat protected, while being played, he will last longer. My main piece of advice is to NEVER play Anakaris if the opponent is using Cable. I've learned that from experience. Just 1 or 2 AHVBs is enough to put Anakaris away for good. If you must be Anakaris fighting a Cable, play defensively and avoid the AHVB (easier said than done ). Hope that helps. Posted by State of Nature on 04:06:2001 07:02 PM: 2 words: 300% infinite. Off of low short no less! It involves Cyke AAA and no damage scaling. Viscant posted this a while back, search for it. Posted by angelassassin on 04:06:2001 11:00 PM: My friend...Anakaris Anakaris...my playing style is suited to air comat and ruling the air( almost) i use a lot of timed coffin drops to take controll of the air and do a good amount of damage. i still need to learn how to use him better on the ground now. i am trying to make a semi infinite with Anakaris and spiral as an assist. his air dash is one great addition. use it well. how long ya been playing with him?
